Our goal is to understand what drives innovation and operational excellence in complex environments. To achieve this, we study how real-world workflows and systems function and evolve over time. This includes examining how teams collaborate, make decisions, and deliver value.

To do this we use advanced modelling techniques to analyse the underlying patterns, behaviours, and structures that help organisations frame problems, generate ideas, and develop practical solutions.

Our approach is grounded in a systems ethos that recognises the essential interplay between people, processes, and technology. By embracing this holistic perspective, we are able to address innovation challenges in a way that reflects the complexity of modern organisations.

Collaboration with industry is central to everything we do. We partner with organisations to identify key challenges, co-develop tailored solutions, and implement and test new models in real operational settings. This ensures our research delivers both academic insights and meaningful, measurable impact.

Key themes include human-centred design, innovation capability development, digital services innovation, and sustainable systems engineering.
