Course Overview

All PhD students in the College of Science will enrol in a Structured PhD

The research activity of the discipline covers a range of topics in both Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. These include solid mechanics and elasticity, numerical methods, quantum computation, conformal field theory, materials modelling, and mathematical biology. Members of the discipline are involved in joint projects with other research units within the University, such as the Stokes Cluster for Applied Mathematics or the Biomechanics Research Centre

Programmes Available

(Structured PhD) Applied Mathematics—4 years (full-time).
Applications are made online via the University of Galway Postgraduate Applications System
