Volunteering
1. Sign up on YourSpace
Cell Explorers is open sign up, meaning anyone can find us and sign up to be part of our YourSpace platform. We can be found on the front page of YourSpace under ‘Leadership and Learning’, or about halfway down the purple lefthand sidebar:
2. Completing modules and forms
Once you have joined the Cell EXPLORERS team on YourSpace you will be able to access training modules, start the garda vetting process (to take part to events involving children) and register to our upcoming events through your dashboard, which looks like this:
New volunteers will only have access to the 2 introductory modules, the enrolment form and link to start the Garda vetting process:
These modules allow you to learn about the activities we do and the way we work. Once you decide to join after completing these modules, you must complete the enrolment form and start the garda Vetting process.
Once the enrolment form completed, the Cell Explorers administrator will assign you to one of the following roles: ‘FDNA’, ‘Lab Prep’ or ‘Data Entry’. Once you have been assigned a role, additional training modules will appear in your student dashboard.
Note: It is very important that you tick the boxes to the left of each module/form link when you have completed them!
3. What happens next?
Once you have joined Cell EXPLORERS on YourSpace and completed all the previous steps, you will receive weekly email notifications for training and event volunteering opportunities as well as invites to social events!
Alternatively, your student dashboard and our Cell EXPLORERS calendar on YourSpace will always be filled with upcoming events and activities!
