The School of Mathematical & Statistical Sciences invites pupils to participate in the ever-popular Junior Mathematics Enrichment initiative that commences on campus on Saturday 21st February 2026.  This programme aims to offer Junior cycle pupils (normally 2nd or 3rd year):

  • a wider perspective on Mathematics and its role in life and society
  • an opportunity to develop their problem solving skills
  • an environment centred on the enjoyment of investigation and discovery among like-minded peers.

The four-week programme takes the form of weekly sessions (10am - 12:30pm) on Saturday 21st and 28th February and the 7th and 14th March 2026. It is free of charge and is delivered by a dedicated team of lecturers and students at the University of Galway.

The programme is open to pupils who show a genuine interest in mathematics and are able to commit to the above schedule.  Pupils are normally nominated for the programme by their schools but please contact jme@universityofgalway if you are interested.
